About Tuscarawas County Booking Watch

What this service is, where its information comes from, and how records are corrected and removed.

What this is

Tuscarawas County Booking Watch is an independent, non-commercial public-information service that presents the Tuscarawas County Sheriff's Office “Currently Housed Inmates” roster in a searchable form. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Sheriff's Office or Tuscarawas County. There is no advertising and no fee of any kind.

A booking is not a conviction. Everyone listed is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. This service never describes anyone as guilty or convicted.

Where the information comes from

Every 3 hours an automated check downloads the roster document that the Sheriff's Office publishes on its public website. Unchanged documents are not downloaded again. Booking photographs are taken directly from that document and are shown only when their position in the document unambiguously identifies whose photo it is. Photos are never generated, edited, or enhanced.

If a download fails or looks incomplete, the previous roster is kept and nobody is marked as no longer listed. When the Sheriff's Office corrects a name or booking time, the existing record is updated rather than duplicated; unclear cases are reviewed by a person.

What is published — and what is not

  • Shown: name, booking photo, booking date and time, age, sex, height, and the listed hold reasons with Ohio Revised Code sections and classifications.
  • Never stored or shown: dates of birth. The roster lists them, but they are discarded during processing.
  • Individual booking pages ask search engines not to index them.
  • Each booking shows when it was first detected, when it was last verified on the official roster, and a link to the official source.

Retention policy

  • Bookings are shown while they appear on the official roster.
  • When a booking leaves the roster it is labelled “No longer listed” and stays visible for 30 days so recent changes can be checked, then it is removed from public view.
  • 90 days after a booking leaves the roster, the record, its charges and its photo are permanently deleted (backups roll over within 14 days).
  • Operational logs are kept for 60 days. Correction requests are deleted one year after they are resolved.

Corrections and removal — always free

If something here is wrong or out of date, or you would like a record or photo removed (for example, because charges were dismissed), use the correction & removal request form. Requests are reviewed by a person. No fee or payment is ever requested or accepted for correcting, changing or removing information, consistent with Ohio Revised Code 2927.22. Removed records are hidden immediately and are not re-published by later roster checks. For the authoritative status of any case, contact the Sheriff's Office or the relevant court.

Booking identity

The roster does not include booking numbers, so a booking is identified by the person's name together with the booking date and time. A person booked more than once appears as separate bookings.
